The
Survey has adopted new technology for printing map publications
created in digital formats. The availability of large-sheet, ink-jet
plotters allows more geologic mapping to be published on the
agency’s limited budget than would be possible with traditional
printing. “Print-on-demand” defines a publication that can be
issued individually in response to customer requests. The maps are
reproduced in 600 dots-per-inch resolution with color inks resistant
to run. Colors may fade over time. The result is an affordable,
highly readable, full-color document vastly superior to xerographic
copies.
Out-of-print
publications are denoted on the record display pages. The Idaho
Geological Survey can provide photocopies of these documents and any
accompanying oversize sheets. .
All
publications may be viewed at the Idaho Geological Survey's offices
in Moscow, Boise, and Pocatello. Copies are also on file at most
public, college, and university libraries in the state.
The
Idaho State Historical Society sells a microfiche set of Bulletins 1-23
and Pamphlets 1-167. To purchase the complete set, contact the Idaho
State Historical Society, 450 N. 4th Street, Boise, ID 83702.
The
Idaho Geological Survey’s publications are available for loan from
the Idaho Commission for Libraries.
