The Pocatello Branch Office of the Idaho Geological Survey is located at the Department of Geology, Idaho State University (ph: 208-282-3235; email: welhjohn@isu.edu). Staff Research Geologist John Welhan chairs the Portneuf Ground Water Forum, a group of local citizens interested in ground water issues in Pocatello, Chubbuck and Bannock County. The Branch Office provides information and advice to SE Idaho citizens, cities, and counties on ground water problems, well construction, ground water quality, and water use.
